Victoria is the smallest state on mainland Australia. It covers an area of 237,629 sq km (91,749 sq mi), including 4.3% of water. The state shares a border with New South Wales to the north and South Australia to the west. The highest point in the state is Mount Bogong, at 1,986 m (6,516 ft).

Victoria observes the Australian Eastern Standard Time, which is +10 GMT. It also observes Daylight Saving Time, from the first Sunday of October to the first Sunday of April, when clocks are turned to +11 GMT. The postal abbreviation of Victoria is VIC.
